Obituary: Emma Lee Harvey Wood, 2001 Source: Nelson County Times, July 2001 Contributor: Suzanne Wood Painter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lovingston-- Emma Lee Wood, 85 of Lovingston, died Tuesday morning, July 24, 2001, at her home. Born September 9, 1915, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Richard Lee and Evelyn Byrd Wood Harvey. She was preceded in death by her step mother, Rose S. Harvey; daughter, Mary Evelyn Wood Smith; and loving husband Frank P. Wood. She was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church at Roseland for over 60 years. She was a former Landscape Consultant with the Waynesboro Nursery for 30 plus years and former president and member of the Nelson County Garden Club for 47 years. She was also a member of the Nelson County Historical Society as well as the Nelson County Proud Land Rose Society. She is survived by a son Frank "Buddy" Wood and his wife Ella of Lovingston; three grandchildren, Mrs. Curtis (Suzanne) Painter, Richard (Rick) T. Smith, and Wayne (Nick) N. Smith. She was also survived by five great-grandchildren, Wendy, Kellie, and Kattie Smith as well as Justin and Aaron Painter. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Jonesboro Baptist Church in Roseland with the Rev Don Harvey and the Rev. John Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6-8 at the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston, and all other times at Mrs. Wood's home in Lovingston.
