Obituary: Otis Junior Woodson Source: The Daily Progress, Friday, December 19, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Otis Junior Woodson, 77, of Shipman, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, 2003, at his residence. Born Feb. 14, 1926, in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Otis Woodson and Bernice Stewartson Woodson. He was a retired rooter, carpenter and construction worker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorrie Louise Woodson, on April 16, 2002. He was also preceded in death by two stepsons, Buddy L. and Frankie E. Pearson, and his four brothers, Pershin, Alfred, Andrew and Matthew, and also his granddaughter, Kathy Pearson. He is survived by his daughter, Lora L. Knapp and husband, Grady, of Shipman; his grandson, Otis Lee Knapp of Shipman; his sisters, Bea W. Mays of Lynchburg and Flora W. Johnson of Shipman; and his two brothers, Fulton and Truitt Woodson, both of Alexandria; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Wells/ Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with the Rev. Nancy Grant and Chaplin David Flack officiating, with interment in Serenity Gardens at Shipman. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
