Arthur Tellie Wood Sr., 91, of Gordonsville, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004.
Born March 23, 1913, in Nelson County, he was the son of the late E. Tellie 
Wood and Sallie Powell Wood and was the husband of the late Ruby Pugh Wood. In 
addition, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Gracie 
Farrar, Lilly W. Wade, Nellie Farrar, Luke E. Wood, J. Ben Wood, John E. Wood 
Sr., and Irvin G. Wood.
Mr. Wood retired from Albemarle Weaving Company and the historic home, 
Monticello.
He is survived by one son, Arthur T. "Whitey" Wood Jr. of Gordonsville; three 
grandchildren, Sharon W. Whitbeck of Orange, Wayne T. Wood of Gordonsville, 
and Steven B. Wood of Stafford; four great-grandchildren, Shannon Eppard and 
Ronnie "Buck" Whitbeck, both of Orange, Chad Wood and Amber Wood, both of 
Stafford; and five great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Young of Unionville, 
Amberlin Whitbeck, Keri Whitbeck, Lauryn Chandler, and Brooklynne Eppard, all 
of Orange.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the 
Teague Funeral Home, Charlottesville. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial 
Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at the 
Teague Funeral Home.
