CONSTABLE BOND: Wiatt Camden SOURCE: Nelson County Will Book C, Page 14 CONTRIBUTOR: Sylvia Ray -------------------------------------------------------- Know all men by these presents that we Wiatt Camden and Alexander Marr are held and firmly bound unto Thomas M. Randolph, Esquire, the Governor of Virginia, and to his successors in office in the sum of five hundred dollars current money to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves jointly and severally, our joint and several heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 24th day of June 1822. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Wiatt Camden is this day by the Court appointed Constable in the 1st hundred in and for the County of Nelson for and during the term of two years agreeable to an act of Assembly passed the 21st day of January 1803 entitled "An Act Concerning Constables"; if therefore the said Wiatt Camden shall in every respect discharge the duties of his said Office of Constable faithfully and impartially, according to the best of his skill and understanding and the laws and usage of this Commonwealth for and during the term aforesaid, then this obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.
