Camden of the County of Nelson and State of Virginia, being in my natural senses and sound mind, do make this my Last Will and Testament as follows, to wit, viz: 1st. My desire is to be buried with as little expense as decency will permit and that all my funeral expenses and just debts be paid as soon after my decease as may be convenient. 2nd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Mildred Camden all my property, to wit, viz: My entire interest in the tract of land upon which I now reside and owned by me and my brother Alexander Camden as left to us by our Father's will in the County of Nelson embracing all my lands in said County, my half interest in four negroes, viz: Charity and her three children - Jane, Jefferson Davis and James Burton, and their future increase, my half interest in stock, household and kitchen furniture, crops of every description, and to have and to hold the said property and all and singular the appurtenances of and there unto belonging free from the claim or claims of each and every person or persons whatsoever. I hereby appoint Mildred Camden, my beloved wife, my sole executrix of this my Last Will and Testament to carry out the provisions herein specified. I have of my own free will made this my Last Will and Testament and not wishing to have it changed or altered in any form whatever. Perkins At a Court of monthly session begun and held for Nelson County at the Courthouse on Monday, the 23rd day of September 1865. An instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of William S. Camden, deceased, was this day produced in Court and proved by the oath of E. V. Carter one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be held for further proof. And at another day to wit: At a Court held for Nelson County on Monday, the 23rd day of October 1865. The will of William S. Camden, deceased, heretofore partly proved in court was this day further proved by the oath of Wm B. Perkins, a subscribing witness thereto and thereupon ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Mildred Camden, the executrix therein named, who made oath thereto and together with James Gillespie, her security (who justified as to his sufficiency) entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of two thousand dollars conditioned according to law.
