Bond: Guardian Bonds for children of Samuel Harris, 1811 Source: Nelson County Will Book A, Page 109 Contributed by: Sylvia Ray (SylviaCamdenRay@aol.com) ------------------------------------------------------------- Know all men by these presents, that we John Burk, Stephen Henderson, Thomas Matthews, and William Burk are held and firmly bound unto John Jacobs, Jr., William Mosby, Asa Varnum, and William B. Jacobs, Gentlemen, Justices of the County Court of Nelson now sitting, in the sum of four hundred dollars to be paid to the said Justices or their successors in office, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, and jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 23rd day of March 1811. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound John Burk is this day by the Court appointed Guardian to Joshua Harris and John Harris, orphans of Samuel Harris, deceased. Now if the above bound John Burk shall well and truly save harmless and indemnify the said Justices in the aforesaid appointment and shall in every respect discharge his duty as a Guardian aforesaid, then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and virtue.
