Contributor: Wayne Coffey -------------------------------------------------- To all to whom it concerns be it hereby known that I Peter C. Jacobs of Nelson County and State of Virginia being certain of death and the uncertainty of life, and in sound mind and memory do make constitute, and declare the following to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all wills heretofore made by me. My wish and desire is, that all my just debts be paid. I will and bequeath to George Williams and John M. Martin In Trust all the land I purchased of George Lavender and James Moffitt, also Partrick a negro man and George a negro boy also George, a negro man at the death of my mother and one half of my interest in my mothers estate provided there is no claim put up for the hire of Jim for several years all this property in Trust for the benefit of Susanna Hill and her children to be laid out under your controle and at her death to equally divided among her living children. I will and bequeath to George Williams and John M. Martin a boundry of land including my house, to run with the line I bought of Moffitt to the mouth of my land and an old road where two large chesnut trees stands to corner there and runs 20 degrees North West, to the to the top of a hill known by the name of the shool house hill and down the top of that to some large rocks that a fence joines to thence with that fence on the north side to Tye River and down the same to David Jacobs under a clift thence with his line to the Beginning near Jacobs old store also Jack and Isbel and Ansyl and Salley and Cart and yoke of stears and 30 Barrels Corn and five hundred pounds porke this property all in Trust for the benefit of Nancy Coffey and her three children Candis Coffey, Sophia W. Coffey, and Ann Coffey and at her death equally divided among her three children provided Nancy Coffey never marries nor takes up with no improper. Then the property and benefits to go to her three children all to be laid out under your controle. I will and bequeath to David Jacobs the uper part of my track on the river and Roland and at his death to be equally divided between Peter Clarkson and Peter Hill also titlle tract of land adjoining his Mill tract wishes him to do something for Wm. B. Jacobs. I will and bequeath to Betsy Clarkson five hundred dollars for her to do as pleases with. I will and bequeath Segrous Hambleton and Nancy Hambleton three hundred dollars each. I will and bequeath to Peter Hight a tract of land on the North Fork of Tye which his father T. Hight and is in partnership in should the sales of personal property not hear in mentioned which is payable at Twelve months after sale Roland and Partrick is to be Hired out for for purpose of Raising the money. I will and bequeath to George R. Jacobs my Boy Henry but John Jacobs if he ever come in Indigent circumstances he is to pay him two hundred dollars and David Jacobs Three hundred dollars. I do hereby constitute and appoint George Williams and John M. Martin my Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Testamony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of June 1830. Peter C. Jacobs (SEAL) Signed Sealed In presents of George G. Wright Joel Campbell Shelton C. Jones At a Court held for Nelson County, this 22nd of July 1833. The last Will and Testament of Peter C. Jacobs, deceased, was presented in open Court & proved by the oath of Shelton C. Jones a subscribing witness thereto & ordered to lie for further proof. And at a Court held for the County aforesaid on the 26th day of August, 1833, the said Will was further proven by the oath of George G. Wright, another subscribing witness and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon George Williams and John M. Martin the Executors named in said Will declining to take upon themselves the burden of Execution thereof. Administration on the estate with the will annexed is granted George G. Wright who made oath and together with William Massie and David Jacobs his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $18.00 and conditioned according to Law: A certificate is granted said Wright on said Estate in due form of Law.
