City of Newport News, Virginia DATE: 1873, date of oldest grave (marker). OWNERS: Morrison Episcopal Church, original and present. (1937) DESCRIPTION: The Episcopal Graveyard lies around the church on all sides. There are some squares by the front entrance. This graveyard is in very bad condition. Tall weeds and grass are growing and there is some underbrush. Services have not been held in the church for years, so everything looks in a run-down condition. The graveyard has an iron fence around it. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were copied from the tombstones: Col. Jos.
