CITY OF NEWPORT NEWS, VA - CEMETERIES – Not Named Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, A graveyard (name not known): 1938 Jan. 10 Research made by Dorothy Diffenderfer Cemetery Location: .5 mile north of Warwick Court House, Virginia, on Route #60, thence .8 mile west of private road. City of Newport News, Virginia DATE: Not Known. OWNERS: Mrs. Charles Tignor. DESCRIPTION: An old neglected road leads to this graveyard, which lies in the midst of a number of walnut trees. The graves are covered with underbrush and honeysuckle, making them difficult to find. There are no tombstones. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This was probably the private burying ground of some family years ago, but the name of the family was not known.
