R.T. DUKE SUCCUMBS AFTER LENGTH ILLESS Mrs. Rosa Virginia Duke, 52, of 1021 24th St., died at 6:30 last night in University Hospital, Charlottesville, after an illness of four months. She was a native of Princeton, W.Va. and a member of the First Congregational Christian Church, the Woman’s Auxiliary and the Progressive Bible Class of the church. Besides her husband, R.T. Duke, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Lucy Ellen Howell of Newport News; a son, Harold R. Clatterbaugh of Covington, a daughter, Mrs. Ira P. Pyle of Covington; five sisters, Mrs. J.C. Massie, and Mrs. W.C. Stone, both of Newport News, Mrs. Frank P. Cerutti of Charleston, W.Va., Mrs. W.W. Buns of Clifton Forge and Mrs. I.H. Snodgrass of Key Rock, W.Va.; two brothers, Arthur Q. Howell of Bluefield, and Woodrow W. Howell of Lexington; two step-son, Richard T. Duke, Jr., of Newport News, and Charles Frederick Duke of Dearborne, Mich.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 Sunday afternoon at First Congregational Christian Church. Rev. H.S. Hardcastle, D.D., pastor, will officiate, assited by the Rev. William A. Edwards of Copeland Park Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J.M. Peach, G.G. Givens, J.B. Saunders, J.H. Skinner, J.W. Holland and W.J. Hudson.
