Mary C. Gaskins 

  CARROLLTON - Mary Caroline Gaskins, 70, of Rt. 1, Box 131, died Monday at 
Riverside Hospital. 

  A native of Bath, N.C., she had been a Peninsula resident since 1948.  She 
was a member of Smithfield Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star, 127, 
Smithfield. 

  Survivors include her husband, Stephen H. Gaskins; two daughters, Delores 
Marie Wood of Goldsboro, N.C., and Alice Westbrook of Newport News; two sons, 
William Ira Gaskins of Saginaw, Mich., and Stephen Don Gaskins of Newport 
News; two sisters, Betsy Cutler of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Pentrolia Tripp 
of Newport, N.C.: 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

  A funeral was to be held today, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at Smithfield Church of 
Christ with burial following at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News. 
An Order of Eastern Star service was held yesterday at Peninsula Funeral Home.

Her parents, John William & Nancy Caroline (ORMOND) BRICKELL, 
   are buried in a family cemetery in Bath, Beaufort Co., NC.
