Hoyle, 73, Buried Oct. 8 At Newport News Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Hoyle, 73, of 306 Central Parkway, Newport News, died in a Newport News hospital Friday, October 7, 1960, after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, she lived in Newport News 68 years. She was a member of Chestnut Avenue Methodist Church. A past president of the Newport News Women's Club, she held the post three terms. She was a former state parliamentarian of the Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs and for the Virginia Association of P-TAs. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Nancy Elizabeth Hoyle of Chicago and Miss Katherine Hoyle of Richmond; one son, attorney Richard V. Hoyle of Newport News; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, Saturday, October 8, at 11 A.M. by Rev. Dewey Mullins, pastor of Chestnut Avenue Methodist Church, and Rev. Paul K. Buckles, pastor of First Presbytherian Church, Newport News. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Newport News.
