Norfolk Co., VA Misc. Court Records Summary: Lemuel Wilson brings suit against Nicholas Curling for more than nine thousand cypress shingles. The court awards Wilson the shingles and orders them paid by Nicholas Curling. This is the only record of a Nicholas Curling in Lower Norfolk County, VA. It is believed that he is the son of Joseph Curling Sr. who perhaps died before Joseph's will was filed in 1717. This assumption is based on the fact that Joseph Curling Sr.'s father was Nicholas Curling from Isle of Thanet, England.
