All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Mike Schoettle schoettlefamily@comcast.net November 6, 2007, 8:49 pm Written: January 31, 1678 Recorded: August 16, 1680 Land To all Christian people to whome those presents shall come know ye that I William Basnett Senr of the County of Lower Norfolk planto have bargained and sould and doe hereby bargain and sell from mee my heires executors administrators for ever to John Brooks of the same place carpenter to him and his heires for ever one ridge of land known by the name of Franks Quarter lying upon a creack called Coulchester Crreeke included in my patton for Coulchester plantation upon Corrotuck Bay ye said ridge of land beginning on the north side of Georges Quarter creeck running to a markd gum from thence along the marked trees to a marked great pine by the marsh side the corner tree being ye last tree and having a valuable consideration in hand reviewed? I doe hearby warrant all and every part and parcell of land within the bounds of the above mencioned Francks Quarter limited by ? and ? and all the rights and privilidges thereunto belonging to him the said John Brooks and his heirs for ever to have and to hold and quietly and peaceable injoy without any lott? Hinderance or molestation of mee my heires executo administrators for ever or any other person or persons whatsover and this shall be a sufficient bill of saile without any farther trouble or suite on ? always provided that ye said John Brooks pay the yearly quit rents due for ever hereafter upon ye said ridge of land and for the true ? of all and every the above said premisies I ye said William Basnett doe hereby ? ? my heires executor administrators in the ? six thousand pounds of well conditioned tobacco and caske and also it is to bee understood the said ridge of land in joyning upon the west side of Francks Quarter creek in wittness hearof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this last of January 1678. Signed William Basnett (his marke) and Sarah Basnett and seales. Signed sealed and delivered in the presents of us: Peter Malborne and Sarah Malborne. Acknowledged in Court by Wm.
