Bee it known unto all men by those present that I Wiliam Basnett Senr of the 
parish of Linhaven in the County of Lower Norfolk have for ? good 
considerations those unto ? mee and for a valuable satisfction by mee reced 
where with should my selfe satisfied contented and paid dou and have with the 
full free and voluntary consent of Sarah Basnett my wife sell deliver and 
poses and  have by those presents sould deliver and posos William Shrief of 
the parish and county aforesaid one parsell of land sittuate lying and being 
in the parish of Linhaven in the County of Lower Norfolk commonly called by 
the name of Long Ridge being bounded on the one part with the fresh ponds that 
runneth beetween the said land and Thomas Griffins land and on the other side 
with the creek that parts the said land from the remaindder of the said 
Bassnetts land the said land to have and to hold with all the rights 
privilidges and ? thereunto belonging unto the said William Shrieff his heires 
executors administratosrs or assigns for ever and I doo by those presents bind 
andingage my selfe my heires executors and administrators and assigns that the 
said William Sheriff his heires executors administrators or assigns shall 
quietly and peaceably keep and injoy the said land for ever without any lott 
troble hindrance or mollestation of mee my heirs executors admintrators or 
assigns or any other person or persons that may or shall lay any claime or 
title thereunto either by from or under ?or from any of the person or persons 
what so ever and I doo further ? to warant and ? the same against all the 
world in witness to the truth I have hereunto sett our hand and seale this 
fourth day of September one thousand six hundred eighty and five.  Signed 
William Basnett and seale (his marke) and Sarah Basnett and seal (her marke).  
Test:  Signed sealed and delivered in the presents of us William Cornick 
William Capps.  Acknowledged beefore several ? 14 May 1686 and now to bee 
recorded 20 June 1686.  Test Wm Porton Cl Cor.
