Know all men by those present I William Basnet Senr of the County of Lower 
Norfolk __ for a valuable consideration in my hand received and thereunto am 
fully consent and satisfied and __ ? good causes me thereunto ? have given 
granted bargained sold assigned ? and dou heareby give bargain grant soell 
assign and conform unto David Whiteford of the County aforesaid all my title 
and interest of a certaine tract of land lying one the west side of the creek 
commonly called Basnett Creek ? towards the head ? of bounded by Thomas 
Griffins and Thomas Smith pattons all towards the woods and so to the beaver 
dams with all the priviledges of that ? foresaid creeke belonging to the 
foresd Basnett with all other privilddges and ? ? belonging to have and to 
hold the same to him the sd David whiteford his heires and assigns for ever 
warranting the same for all ? ? and morgages? Or ? what so ever to the 
proper ? of sd Whiteforrd his heires or assigns and further I the sd William 
Basnet oblidge my self and heires and to acknowledge in Lower Norfolk Court 
this sale with both ? my wife Sarah shall acknowledged in att all or ? time 
when required unto him the said Whitefore his heires or assigns the the 
perrformance of all and eery the / for I  / ? selfe my heires exect administ 
the said Whitefore his heirs exec admin or assigns in the in the sume of three 
thousand pounds of good tobaco in cask in wittness whereof I have heareunto 
sett my hand and seal this 12 day of November 1686.  Signed William (his mark) 
Basnett Senr.  Also signed Thomas Jackson, Thomas Griffin.  Acknowleged in 
Court 30th November 1686.  Test Wm. Porten Cl Cor
