Norfolk County Widow: Sarah, 3 children Bernard Lynton enlisted the first of March 1777-and died in the town of Portomajith(?) on the first day Feb. 1778. Signed: Hudson, then (cut off) Div 2nd VA At a Court held for Norfolk County the 20th day of April 1787: Ordered that the Clerk certify to his Excellancy the Governor and the Honorable Council That Sarah Linton, aged 45 years, a weakly woman with three children, sixteen, thirteen and and eleven years old, without any property is the widow and relict of Bernard Linton who died during the late war in the Second VA regiment of this county.
