Deceased Name: MARY B. ALLEN

Mary Banks Allen, 87, of the 600 block of Redgate Ave., passed away Thursday, 
Jan. 24, 2002, in a local hospital. 
Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Susan Winder Banks and 
George W. Banks, and was the widow of Frank Wilson Allen. Mrs. Allen was a 
member of Central Baptist Church. 
Survivors include a daughter, Mary S. Sutherland of Florida; two sons, George 
Wilson Allen and Frank Ellison Allen, both of Norfolk; two granddaughters, 
Mary L. Sutherland of Delaware and Susan A. Fernandez of Florida; and two 
great-grandchildren. 
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Cox 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald L. Hardaway. Burial will follow in Elmwood 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at her residence today from 2 to 4 
p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 701 W. 
Olney Road, Norfolk, VA 23507. Condolences may be sent to the family through
