The funeral will take place Wednesday, but no arrangements have yet been made. Mr. Buchanan had been a widower for twenty-three years. When his wife died she asked Mrs. Mary Naylor, a benevolent old lady living in the same house, to look after his wants, and this she had assiduously done. The deceased was a watchman for C.W. Pettit. Sunday morning he came home, remarking that he had been obliged to sit down several times on the way, took a seat in a rocking chair and remained there until he died, passing away at the hour mentioned painlessly and peacefully. It was a case of old age and physical exhaustion. He was an old soldier, a member of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, C.V. Lafayette Lodge, and Jerusalem Camp, I.O.O.F, and of Freemason Street Baptist Church.
