Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 30, 1914
Miss Cassie Clifton, the 14-year-old daughter of James Clifton and the late Mrs. 
Phoebe Perkins Clifton of Norfolk County, died in St. Vincent's hospital after a 
brief illness from appendicitis at 4 o'clock yesterday morning.  She is survived 
by her father, grandmother, Mrs. Susan Perkins; one sister, Miss Sudie Clifton 
and other near relatives.  The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4:30 
o'clock from the home of the uncle of the deceased, 415 Appomattox street and 
will be conducted by Rev. W.M. Black, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church.  
The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

CLIFTON -- At St. Vincent's Hospital, Norfolk, Va., Wednesday morning, April 29, 
at 4 o'clock, CASSIE CLIFTON, daughter of James Clifton and the late Mrs. Phoebe 
Perkins Clifton, aged 13 years, 11 months and 2 days.
The funeral takes place at the residence of her uncle, Lemuel Perkins, 415 
Appomattox street, Berkley ward, THIS (Thursday) AFTERNOON at 4:30 o'clock.  
Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend.  The interment will be 
in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
