                         C. E. HOLLAND, AGED 75, DIES

Charles Edward Holland, Sr., 75, well known in Norfolk business circles, died 
yesterday at 6:10 a.m. at the family residence, 1036 Larchmont Crescent. He was 
a native of Gates County, N.C., a son of the late Robert and Margaret Robertson 
Holland, and had resided in Norfolk for 47 years.
For 25 years he was in the partnership of Rountree & Holland, commission 
merchants, and for 15 years was identified with the D. Pender Stores as a 
produce buyer.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Ellen Baylor Holland, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. 
A.F. Miles of Washington; a son, Charles Edward Holland, Jr., of Norfolk; a 
grandchild, Jeanne Miles, of Washington; a brother, William R. Holland, of 
Ahoskie, N.C., and three nieces, Mrs. E.H. Church, Mrs. W.R. Poyner and Mrs. 
Edward Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Ewell and 
Williamson Funeral Home.  The Rev. Henry W. Tiffany, D.D., pastor of Park Place 
Christian Church, of which Mr. Holland was a member, the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, 
D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. J.B. Sawyer, 
pastor of Larchmont Baptist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar 
Grove Cemetery.
