He was born in Santander, Spain and lived in the area 45 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Wanner of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Josephine DeSoto of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Emiliana Abascal of Santander, Spain; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, where the Rosary will be said Sunday night at 7:30. The family will have visitation at the funeral apartments tonight and Sunday night from 7 to 9. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Fund.
