The Virginian Pilot Sunday August 1, 1976
CHESAPEAKE - Mrs. Bernetta Lane Abbott, 78, of 1114 Chesapeake Ave., South 
Norfolk, died Saturday in her home. 
A native of South Norfolk, she was a member of South Norfolk Christian 
Church.
Survivors include two sons, Byron E. Abbott of Norfolk, and Walter B. Abbott 
of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle White, Mrs. Nellie VanVleek, 
Mrs. Helen Overton, all of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Emma Fulford of Virginia 
Beach; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Willis E. Joiner.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.  The family 
will be at 1114 Chesapeake Ave., Chesapeake.
