Virginian Pilot May 21, 1975

               CAPT. ABBOTT, 62, NORFOLK NATIVE; 2-WAR VETERAN

Retired Navy Capt. William George Abbott, 62, of 5937 Glenhaven Crescent, the 
husband of Mrs. Mozelle Chisholm Abbott and a native of Norfolk, died Tuesday in 
a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired after 26 years 
of service.
He was past president of the Tidewater Orchid Society, member of Norfolk 
Consistory of Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shrine Temple and St. John's Masonic 
Lodge, Newport, R.I.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. William D. Parrish. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions 
made to the American Cancer Society.
