He was born in Camden County, N.C. but had made his home here for more than 35 years. He was a son of the late Alfred and Mrs. Margaret Kelly Abbott and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie E. Abbott; the following children: William E. Abbott, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Walter P. Abbott, of Texarkana, Tex.; Cecil C. Abbott, of Savannah, Ga.; Shelton R. Abbott, of South Norfolk and J. Alfred Abbott, also of South Norfolk; three brothers, C.F., W.R. and R.J .Abbott; one sister, Mrs. P.C. Whitehurst, and seven grandchildren, all of South Norfolk. He was a member of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church and also of Oakdale Lodge, No. 70, I.O.O.F. The body was taken to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox, 124 East Berkley Avenue, where funeral services will be held. Time will be announced later. *************************************************************************** Funeral services for William Thomas Abbott, who died yesterday morning, at his home, 94 Jackson Street, South Norfolk, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox, 124 East Berkley Avenue. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
