ABDELL, CLEVELAND G. - At the Veterans' Administration Hospital at Oteen, N.C., 
Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 1944, at 2:55 o'clock, CLEVELAND G. ABDELL, in 
the 60th year of his age. Funeral services will be held in the James V. Derry 
Funeral Chapel, 1920 Colley Avenue, SUNDAY AFTERNOON, October 8, 1944, at 3:30 
o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Please omit flowers.

Cleveland G. Abdell - Funeral services for Mr. Abdell, a veteran of World War I, 
who died in the veteran's hospital last Wednesday, were conducted yesterday at 
3:30 p.m. by the Rev. L.R. Black, pastor of the Ocean View Methodist Church, in 
the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel.  Pallbearers were C.T. Fleear, A.L. Stone, 
H.O. Gregory, V.C. Taylor, D.V. Allen, M.W. Dozier, C.M. Pitt and C.S. Mahone.
Military rites were conducted at the grave by an Army honor squad of rifles and 
bugle and by a delegation of members of Norfolk Post No. 36, American Legion. 
Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery.
