NORFOLK - Mrs. Rose Leventhal Abrams, 78, widow of Nathan Abrams and daughter 
of Morris and Mrs. Marion Leventhal, died Wednesday at 1:05 a.m. in Portsmouth 
General Hospital.
Mrs. Abrams lived in this section 44 years, lately at 609 Powhatan Ave., 
Portsmouth. She was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation and of Workmen's 
Circle.
She is survived by one son, William Abrams, and two daughters, Mrs. Irvin 
Saifin and Mrs. Ben Asher, all of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; one great 
grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Becky Rosen of Arlington and Mrs. Benjamin 
Mendelson of Norfolk; and a brother, Harry Leventhal of California.
A funeral service was held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Wednesday by 
Rabbi Joseph Schecter of B'Nai Israel Congregation. Burial was in B'Nai Israel 
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Gladstone, Henry Mount, Dr. Nathan Sapian, Dr. 
Morton Brounstein, Dr. Ansell Lipman and Harry Leakman.
