Acey Dies At Age of 82; Funeral Today William Thomas Acey, 82, of 118 West 38th Street, died Saturday at 10:40 p.m. after being in ill health for some time. He was taken seriously ill a week ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Gray Acey, four sons, the Rev. Archie E. Acey, D.D., of Danville, Basil B., Thomas E., and Randolph I. Acey, all of Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. S. Blair Poteate, of Norfolk and nine grandchildren. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was a resident of Virginia for 56 years, the last 30 of which he spent in Norfolk. He was a member of the Park Place Methodist Church and the Wesley Bible Class and a charter member of the Wesley Bible Class Chorus. The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the Park Place Methodist Church today at 2 p.m. where it will lie in state until 3 o'clock when funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. R. Orman Bryant, D.D., pastor, and the Rev. Frank L. Wells, D.D., superintendent of the Norfolk Methodist District. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. **************************** William Thomas Acey, 82, husband of Mrs. Annie Gray Acey, died at his residence, 618 West 38th Street, Saturday night at 10:40 o'clock. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. S. Blair Poteate, of Norfolk; four sons, the Rev. A.E. Acey, D.D., of Danville; T.E., R.I. and B.B. Acey, of Norfolk; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr Acey was a native of Wilkesboro, Pa., and has resided in Norfolk for 30 years. He was a member of Park Place Methodist Church. The body was taken to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. Both articles in the newspaper the same day.
