The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 25, 1938
Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson Ackiss, wife of H.S. Ackiss and daughter of the late 
Willam A. and Mrs. Ella Daughtrey Anderson, a native of Portsmouth, and a 
resident of Norfolk for practically her entire life, died Saturday morning at 
7:20 o'clock at a local hospital.  Besides her husband, H.S. Ackiss, she is 
survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Shaner, of Greensboro, N.C.; one son, 
H.S. Ackiss, Jr.; one grandson, James Harrison Ackiss, and one sister, Miss 
Blanche W. Anderson, of Norfolk. 
Funeral services will be held at the residence, 606 Westover avenue, today at 
12 o'clock, noon, with the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of the Freemason 
Street Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Ackiss was a member, officiating.  
Interment will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
