Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 31, 1952
David Washington Ackiss, 65, husband of Nettie Bristow Ackiss and son of the 
late Jonathan W. and Amy Bruce Ackiss, died at the residence, 136 West Randall 
Avenue, yesterday at 9:15 p.m.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. E. L. Whitehurst, of Princess 
Anne County, and two brothers, A.B. and J.W. Ackiss, both of Norfolk.
Mr. Ackiss was a native of Princess Anne County and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for 40 years.  He was a member of the Christadelphia Chapel and had been 
in the employ of the Norfolk Post Office for over 10 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon Brown Funeral Home at a time 
to be announced.

David Washington Ackiss  - Funeral services for Mr. Ackiss will be conducted at 
the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in Riverside 
Memorial Park.
