Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday March 3, 1929
William F. Ackiss, aged 48, for many years a well known resident of Norfolk, 
died at his home, 1123 East Olney road, yesterday morning at 2:50 o'clock. He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha V. Ackiss; three daughters, Mrs. Abby Shipp, 
Mrs. Lorraine Rouley and Miss Susie V. Ackiss, all of this city, and a brother, 
Ivey W. Ackiss, of Waterlily, N.C.  Mr. Ackiss was a member of Norfolk Council 
No. 3, Order of Fraternal Americans.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock with the Rev. A.P. Williams, pastor of McKendree Methodist Church and 
the Rev. L.E. Smith, D.D., pastor of the Christian Temple, officiating.  Burial 
will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
