Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 11, 1944

Mrs. Grace Turner Ackiss, wife of Harrison S. Ackiss, Jr., died at the 
residence, 604 Westover Avenue, last night at 9:10 o'clock after an illness 
of two months.  She was a native of Norfolk and had lived here practically 
all of her life.  Mrs. Ackiss was a daughter of James E. and Mrs. Leana 
Buncie Matthias Turner.  She was a  member of Freemason Street Baptist 
Church.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, mother and father, are a son, 
James Harrison Ackiss, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. N.A. Jones, of Lynnhaven, 
and a brother, James Walton Turner of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home.
