Norfolk - Mrs. Annie Ackiss of 7619 Elm Ave., the widow of John H. Ackiss, died
May 14 in a hospital.

A native of Sussex County, she was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and its
Senior Choir, the Emergency Club, and Huldah Tent 71, Virginia Beach.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Ackiss Jones, Mrs. Lydia McGlone,
and Mrs. Annie M. Johnson, and two sons, John B. Ackiss and Henry A. Ackiss, all
of Norfolk.

A funeral service was held May 19, in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church by the Rev.
Raymond Dean.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Home in
charge.
