Virginian-Pilot January 10, 1899
The funeral of Mr. Joseph H. C. Adams, whose death occurred at his home, No. 109 
Holt street, Saturday, was held from the residence at 10 o’clock yesterday 
morning, Rev. Edward Mack, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducting the 
service. There were a number of floral tributes sent by friends of the deceased. 
The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery and the following were the pallbearers: 
Messrs. H. P. Embury, M. P. Groner, W. B. Griggs, Charles A James, Andrew Browne, 
Sr., Joseph Williamson, Herbert Jordan and Albert Stahl.
