Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 4, 1941
H. Ashbey Adams, aged 75, died suddenly at his residence, 1011 Duke street, 
yesterday morning at 4:30 o'clock.  He was a son of Alexander B. and Mrs. 
Margaret Richardson Adams, was a native of Buckingham County, and had been a 
resident of Norfolk 25 years.  Surviving him are four brothers, William R. 
Adams, of Washington, D.C.; J.C. Adams and A.B. Adams, of Hinton, W. Va. and 
M.R. Adams, of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy L. Warren, of Salem and Mrs. Mary 
Elliott, of Burkeville.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the funeral 
chapel of James V. Derry, Colley and Harrington avenues.  The Rev. George W.M. 
Taylor, pastor of Zion Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
