The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, September 9, 1971

NORFOLK - Ted Adams of 916 Albert Ave., the husband of Mrs. Mattie Adams, died 
Monday in Greenville, N.C., after a short illness.

A native of Madison County, Ala., he was a son of the late George and Mrs. 
Bessie Adams.

He retired from the navy and worked for Perkins Open Air Market.

Besides his widow, surviving are three sons, Ted Adams Jr., Glem Lee Adams, and 
Alphonse Adams of Norfolk; six brothers, Roosevelt Adams of Harvest, Ala., 
George Adams Jr. of Detroit, Joseph Adams and Walter T. Adams of Baltimore, J.P. 
Adams of Cleveland, and Sammie Adams of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; and five sisters, 
Mrs. Corrine Scott, Miss Matlie Sue Adams, and Mrs. Legusta Thomas of 
Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Igusta Ingraham of North Carolina, and Mrs. Bessie Mae 
Binford of Harvest.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Ted Adams will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in 
olive Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Raymond Dea. Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge. Also surviving is a daughter, Miss 
Phyliia Mae Adams of Norfolk.
