Mrs. Adams, a native of Norfolk, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was past secretary of the board of St. Mary’s Infant Home and Norfolk Tidewater Committee of the Colonial Dames in America. She was past president of the Loving Circle of King’s Daughters and Town & County Garden Club. She was a past president of the PTA of Walter Herron Taylor School and the women’s auxiliary of the Norfolk Academy of Medicine. She attended Emmaculata Seminary in Washington, D.C., and Bronson School in New York City. She was past chairman of the board of Norfolk Day Nursery. She was a Norfolk German Club debutante. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Walter P. Adams; a daughter, Charlotte A. Harrell of Norfolk; a son, Walter P. Adams Jr. of Williamsburg, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. The graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. John J. Dorgan. Memorial donations may be made to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters or St. Mary’s Infant Home. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
