Addington, wife of our townsman, Mr. J. D. Addington, which sad event occurred yesterday morning at 1:05 o'clock at the residence of her husband. Mrs. Addington was a devoted member of St. Paul's P. E. Church, and she was never more happy than when engaged in some charitable work and her open hand will be missed in many a home where she was a welcome visitor. She was possessed of a beautiful Christian character and amiable disposition, and was the centre of a large circle of admirers. She was a member of the Ladies' Memorial Association of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, and it and the Camp are called to attend the funeral, which will take place this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from St. Paul's Church. The funeral of Mrs. Emma A., wife of Mr. James D. Addington, whose death has been announced in a previous issue, took place at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon from St. Paul's P. E. Church, of which the deceased had been a constant member. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. S. Lloyd, rector of St. Luke's Church, in the presence of a large congregation, conspicuous in which was Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate Veterans; the Ladies' Memorial Auxiliary of the Camp and the Children's Aid Society of St. Paul's Church. The remains were interred in Cedar Grove Cemetery, and were followed to the grave by a long procession, of which the organizations mentioned formed a part. The following gentlemen were the pall bearers: Messrs. James Y. Leigh, C. Billups, Judge T. S. Garnett, James T. Borum, George W. Wilson, W. M. Hannah, L. Royster, W. Lane Kelly, B. A. Marsden and James F. Duncan.
