Virginian Pilot July 30, 1959

Mrs. Lena Addison, 83, widow of Jacob C. Addison and daughter of James and Mrs. 
Sarah Etheridge Murden, died Wednesday at 3:10 p.m. at a Norfolk hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 2335 E. Indian River Rd. at 
the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. 
She is survived by one son, Edward M. Addison of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. 
T.E. Bristow of Oceana; Mrs. Joseph B. Murden of Norfolk; Mrs. F.B. Handley of 
Blackstone and Mrs. John Gordon of Chulavista, Calif.; five grandchildren, seven 
great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Pat Perkins of Norfolk, one niece and one 
nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday 
at 10 a.m.
Rosary services are scheduled at the funeral apartments today at 7:30 p.m.

NORFOLK – The body of Mrs. Lena Addison, widow of Jacob C. Addison, who died 
Wednesday at a Norfolk hospital, will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for services today at 10 a.m. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
