Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 27, 1923

John Addison, 75 years old, died at noon yesterday at his home, 720 Clay Avenue. 
He was a native of Smithfield, Va., but had been a resident of Norfolk for the 
past fifty years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Addison; two daughters, 
Mrs. L.L. Williams and Miss Jennie Addison; a son, Joseph Addison and eight 
grandchildren. The deceased was a brother of the late James Addison. He was a 
member of Washington Lodge, I.O.O.F. and Wyandotte Tribe, I.O.R.M. He was a 
member of Park Place Baptist Church. 
Funeral services will be held at H.D. Oliver's funeral apartments, 610-12 East 
Freemason Street, at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning, Rev. L.D. S. Knight, 
officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
