AGELASTO DIED YESTERDAY Widely Known Cotton Merchant - Universally Esteemed - Funeral Today Alexander M. Agelasto, Sr., died at his residence, No. 54 York Street, yesterday morning after a brief illness in the 75th year of his age. The deceased was born in Greece, but had been in this country for many years and was a resident of this city for twenty-seven years, where he was unusually esteemed. He was extensively known as a cotton merchant in the business world and had accumulated a handsome fortune. In social life he was exceedingly genial and pleasant. He is survived by a widow and three sons, viz.; P.A. Agelasto, M.A. Agelaston and A.M. Agelasto, Jr. At a called meeting of the Norfolk Cotton Exchange held yesterday morning to take suitable notice of the death of Mr. Agelasto, who was a member of the organization, a committee composed of Judge M.L. Eure, J.W. Perry, John N. Vaughan, J.F. Jenkins and Geo. Hogan was appointed to draft resolutions of respect to his memory. The resolutions were presented and unanimously adopted. The following committee was then appointed to attend the funeral, which will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon: Judge M.L. Eure, John N. Vaughan, W.M. Jones, Sr., John F. Jenkins, George L. Arps, J.W. Perry, W.M. Simpson and George Hogan.
