Margaret Mary "Peggy" Akey, 56, of the 5000 block of Eaton Court, a bookkeeper, 
died April 9, 1986, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Akey, a New York native, was employed by Virginia Power.  She was a member of 
Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the NDC Cancer Support Group and the Lafayette Zoo 
Docent Society.
Survivors include her husband, Norman D. Akey; a son, Norman D. Akey, Jr., of 
Virginia Beach; her father, M. W. Maury Kennedy of Virginia Beach; two sisters, 
Patricia K. Grande, of Maryland, and Joyce K. Martz, of New Jersey; and two 
brothers, James F. Kennedy and M. Bill Kennedy, both of North Carolina.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by 
the Rev. Michael M. Vermillion.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7:30 
to 8:30 p.m. today and at the residence.  Memorial donations may be made to the 
church's Life for Death Fund.
