Albano, 90, of the 7300 block of Glenroie Ave., died Sept. 28, 2002, in a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Albano was a native of Richmond, Va., and a resident of Norfolk since 1938. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Stagg Albis and was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynne Marie Bowen. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of Christ the King and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. Mrs. Albano was a past president of the Women's Auxiliary of Depaul Hospital; founding member of the Friends of Depaul; past director of DePaul School of Nursing; past secretary of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (Norfolk), Pickett-Buchanan Chapter; member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Richmond), Old Dominion Chapter; member of Colonial Dames of Williamsburg; past board member of the Norfolk Symphony Auxiliary and a past member of the Norfolk Society of Museum Arts; past board member of the Advisory Council of the Juvenile Court; past president of the Lakewood Garden Club; and a member of the State Federation of Garden Clubs and Kings Daughters-Lakewood. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, James A. Albano, of Norfolk; a daughter, Grace Albano Orsini, of Norfolk; a son, James A. Albano, Jr., and his wife, Shirley, of Virginia Beach; her son-in-law, Jack Bowen, of Hagerstown, Md.; and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Joseph H. Metzger, III. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends in H.D.
