Mr. Alexander was born in Norfolk and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. He had co-owned the funeral home for 25 years and had owned and operated Metropolitan Ambulance Service for 20 years. He was the former owner of Central T.V.-Appliance Shop. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Alexander was a member of Progressive Masonic Lodge 7, F.A.A.Y.; Ezekiel Royal Arch Chapter 6; St. Joseph's Knights of Templar 4; Royal Consistory 4, 32nd degree; and Sahara Temple 4, A.A.O.N.M.S. Survivors include his wife, Harriett S. Alexander; three daughters, Davida M. Alexander, Arlene Brown and Darlene Brown, all of Norfolk; two sons, Kenneth Cooper Alexander of Norfolk and Kevin Bobbitt of Chesapeake; three brothers, Claudius P. Wilson and Eugene K. Wilson, both of Norfolk, and Willie Alexander of Portsmouth. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the church. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 1926 Prentis Ave. at noon for the procession. Metropolitan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
