NORFOLK - Mrs. Lillie Alexander of 722 E. Princess Anne Road died Thursday at 3 
a.m. in her home after a long illness.

A native of Fairfield, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Abren and Mrs. 
Elizabeth G. Johnson and the widow of Allen Alexander.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street.

Surviving are a son, Edward Whitley, and a daughter, Gefanline Whitney, both of 
Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Aletha Blackwell of New York, Mrs. Lena Grace of 
Burlington, N.J., Mrs. Bukan Moore of Belhaven, N.C., and Mrs. Roberta Spencer 
of Norfolk; and two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bue 
Street, by the Rev. E. Paul Simms. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale 
Funeral Home in charge.
