Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Alexander, who died in  a New York hospital
Wednesday, Oct. 28, were held at New Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, at 1 p.m.
on Sunday, Nov 1.  Elder Samuel A. Wilson, pastor, officiated and delivered the
eulogy.

Mrs. Alexander was born Jan 19,1875 in Petersburg Va.  She was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Brown.

She attended the public schools in Petersburg, VA. and was a member of Gilfield
Baptist Church.  At the age of 20 she was married to Robert Alexander out of
which union was born six children.

She moved to Norfolk in 1924 and joined New Calvary Baptist Church.  In 1940 she
went to New York City, and became a member of the Convent Avenue Baptist church
and the Red Shield Club of the Salvation Army.  She was active in both
organizations up to the day of her entrance in the hospital Sept. 28.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Borum, Mrs. Dorothy
Boykins, Mrs. Lillian White, all of New York City;  two sisters, Mrs. Lillian
Taylor, Norfolk and Mrs. Grace Pollard, Petersburg;  four granddaughters, one
grandson;  one great grandson, one great granddaughter, four nieces, one grand
niece, three nephews and other relatives.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of funeral
arrangements.
