The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday November 19, 1937
Mrs. Lizzie Anna Stubbs Allard, aged 77, died at her residence, 331 Ward avenue,
yesterday morning at 6:20 o'clock after a long illness. She was a native of 
Gloucester County and had been a resident of Norfolk 48 years. Mrs. Allard was 
the widow of William D. Allard and daughter of John Wesley and Mrs. Susan 
Stubbs Wesley. Surviving her are five sons, Capt. Paul Allard, William M., 
W.E., V.W., and Frank Allard, and one daughter Mrs. Nannie B. Jacques, all of 
Norfolk. 
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the 
funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road. The Rev. Roy E. 
Price, pastor of the Brambleton Avenue M.E. Church, will officiate. Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery.
