The Virginian Pilot Thursday September 7, 1967
Marvin K. Allegood Sr., 65, of 909 Lafayette Ave., South Norfolk Borough, 
died Wednesday at 11:25 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness.
He was retired from Colonna Shipyard.  He was a member of South Norfolk 
Masonic Lodge 339.
A native of Washington, N.C., he lived in this area 55 years.  He was a son 
of Woodley A. and Mrs. Mary E. Allegood and the husband of Mrs. Helen 
Plummer Allegood.
Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Marvin K. Allegood Jr., and a 
sister, Mrs. W.E. Congleton, both of Virginia Beach, and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in Francis A. Gay 
Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Norfolk.
