The Virginian Pilot Tuesday April 27, 1971
Mrs. Shirley Allen of 927 Lincoln St. died Monday at 5:43 a.m. in a hospital.
A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late James and Mrs. Rosa B. 
Griffin.
She was a former member of New Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are a foster son, Earl Jones of Norfolk; a brother, Thomas Griffin 
of Baltimore; and two sisters, Miss Gertie Griffin and Mrs. Lena White of 
Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Hale Funeral Chapel by 
the Rev. J.J. Freeman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of a niece, Mrs. Doris Nelson.
