Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, February 1, 1994 
Bernice Harper Allen, of the 800 block of Bagnall Road, died Jan. 29, 1994, at
her residence.

She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late William W. and Martha
Johnson Harper. She was the widow of Lionel Allen, a member of Bethel Baptist
Church, Norfolk, and the Court of Calanthe.

Survivors include one son, Samuel L. Allen of Norfolk; one sister, Geneva
Gilliam Revell; one grandchild, Avanti C. Allen-Benson of Virginia Beach; and
two great-grandchildren, Donavon Lamont Benson and Gregory Lewis Benson.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Bethel Baptist Church, Norfolk,
by the Rev. Jessie E. Arrington. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing
will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Riddick Funeral Service. The family will be at
851 Bagnall Road.
